Giffords, led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, brings decades of political, legal and policy expertise to advocate for gun safety. They are politically active, mobilizing voters, educating lawmakers and fighting for laws, policies and programs to reduce firearm injury. The Giffords Law Center is a fantastic resource. They have in depth online reports on a wide variety of gun violence prevention issues. They also post an updated chart with analyses of state by state gun laws. Giffords is a generous and innovative partner to many different groups across the country, from helping community groups fight for local safe storage laws to assisting medical professionals organize and fight for federal funding of gun violence prevention research. Giffords recently launched a new national coalition, Gun Owners for Safety, uniting hunters, sport shooters and collectors who want common sense gun laws.
