AFFIRM, the American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine, is the nation’s leading non-profit fully dedicated to ending the American firearm injury epidemic using the public health approach. We are a nonpartisan network of healthcare professionals, public health experts, and researchers who work to prevent firearm injury through research, innovation, and evidence-based practice. AFFIRM aims to change the public perception of firearm injury and death by engaging in community-driven conversations, bringing together diverse stakeholders, clinicians, and community members to reflect on the very real ripple effects of firearm injury, and applying the evidence of prevention in our communities as well as health care settings. Check the website for details on our unique programs Reframe, Rethink and Resolve, our series of events and the process for research grant applications.
