The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Prevention and Policy (CGVPP) is a trusted source for high-quality research, analysis, innovation and education to advance the prevention of gun violence. Founded in 1995, the Center’s multidisciplinary faculty members and students study the effects of gun laws, and the implementation of gun policies and community violence prevention efforts. CGVPP faculty bring a public health perspective to their research and policy analyses to inform policy debates about reducing gun violence. CGVPP faculty teach in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, attracting masters and doctorate level students who are interested in gun violence prevention. CGVPP has created several free online educational programs open to the public (e.g. Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change which is available on Coursera accompanied by this high quality Course Resource List, two Teach-Outs, one on Handgun Purchaser Licensing and the other on Extreme Risk Protection Order laws (ERPO) as well as another CME-eligible learning opportunity on ERPO laws).
